Zan Asha is a Dreamer, just like you.......
Her work in the arts actually began in theater: after receiving her BA in film and theater from NYU, she spent 10 years directing an ethnic dance and theater troupe in NYC.
Upon retirement from this, she continued her love of storytelling by rekindling her love of drawing and painting, and soon parlayed this into painted, functional fairytale clocks and art dolls. She added ceramics into her repertoire after a car accident in 2016, as a form of therapy.
Along with her love of Halloween, she was deeply in love with the stories her European mother told her about mysterious and enchanted forests, As such, her works display various old world folktales and fables, Cute and creepy charming Halloween motifs and of course Edgar Allen Poe.
She still incorporates various materials, but is best known for her ceramic folk art boxes and plates, figurines, and enchanted wooden fairytale clocks.
