Baker, Karen

Karen Baker was born in Redondo Beach, California. Both her parents were extremely talented artists and musicians so Karen was always surrounded by both arts. At a young age she showed an aptitude for fine art and took college courses, but she considers herself mostly self taught. Karen later met Jack Johnston, a famous doll artist, and she was his apprentice for 7 years. Eventually she branched off into teaching and selling her art before finally finding a niche in Halloween art.

Karen is an avid horse woman and all around animal lover. She lives on her ranch in North Carolina where she entertains 3 donkeys, 1 goat, 3 horses, 20 chickens, 4 cats, 3 dogs, 1 tortoise, and 2 parrots.

Karen has shown her work at Bewitching Peddlers of Art show in Michigan for many years.
