Bentley, Sheila

Sheila Bentley's business name is Bentley Designs, although many know her as Prim Dolly. She has a studio in her home in northern Minnesota, actually not too far from Fargo... and yes, Sheila says we all sound like that.

Sheila has been an artist all her life, drawing on any surface she could find. She began as a portrait artist, as faces and expressions have always been her focus. The transition to sculpting happened during a pottery class in college. She has been focusing on Halloween art for about 30 years and mainly sculpts in polymer clay, but she has also worked with paper clay and papier-mâché. Sheila dresses her pieces in vintage fabrics and recycled clothing, which helps give them a vintage feel.

Sheila does only one show a year: Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween in Marshall, Michigan. Additionally, you can find her work for sale on her Facebook page and occasionally in her Etsy shop, Primdolly. She has been published several times in Art Dolls, Art Doll Quarterly, and Autumn Brilliance.
