Dearth, Liz

Pottery

Liz Dearth began working with ceramics in 2008, creating bats, monsters, and spooky art in an effort to exorcise the creative demons her job wouldn’t permit. She really enjoyed making Halloween art in

the fall when vending local art fairs.

In 2012, Liz found out there were “Halloween artists” and “Halloween art shows”; she immediately became enchanted with the idea of creating Halloween art full time and participating in a Halloween art show. Liz has an infinite love for Halloween that began after seeing a spooky store display in the “Yum Yum Tree” gift store when she was around 8 years old. Since that memory, Halloween has ALWAYS held a kind of magical spell over her.

Liz has created Halloween art since 2008, but now all of her ceramic work has a Halloween/Halloween-adjacent theme. Liz has an Etsy shop and has participated in shows close to her Ohio home such as: Oddities and Curiosities Expo in Columbus, Ohio; Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween in Marshall, Michigan; and The Merry Krampus in Columbus, Ohio.
