Powell, Myriam

Myriam Powell is a self-taught, mixed-media artist.  She was exposed to art at an early age through her mother, who was a painter, dress maker and ceramist. 

Myriam started creating art dolls in 2011.  Her art has evolved throughout the years from simple/quirky to more refined.  Her designs celebrate all seasons, but Halloween and Day of the Dead are her favorites.  She loves creating whimsical/spooky witches and catrinas. 

She has experimented with a range of media but prefers sculpting with stone clay and Cosclay.  Her creative process begins with an idea that is often inspired by a unique material or cool fabric. 

Myriam has been published in magazines and has displayed her art in galleries in the US and internationally.
